The exterior design "Solid Wing Face" of the 10th generation Civic is not in a traditional sedan style but an aggressive manner.

The manufacturer equips the Civic sedan with LED headlights, front fenders, and a sport bumper to achieve the bold design. 

Thanks to additional details such as the sculpted hood and the roofline extending the trunk side, the Civic's shape is almost identical to that of a truck. C-shaped taillights extending to the trunk, a new trunk design with the rear bumper more clearly show this model's sporty look. The Civic wheels are quite large, 16 inches for the entry-level model and 17 inches for the premium variant.

The manufacturer wants to take full advantage of the aerodynamics with the hexagonal front, side by two lines of characters, and the C-shaped intakes at the wheels.

The rear of the car still keeps the rear lights as long as the previous generation.

The Elantra comes in three alloy wheel options: 15-inch for the low-end, 16-inch for the mid-tier, and 17 inches for the premium version.

The interior of the Honda Civic has a sporty style.

Instead of Honda's traditional piano decoration, the Civic's touch material is made of fake aluminium alternating with a silver coating around the car. The new entry-level model uses fabric seats, while the Turbo's seat material is leather.

The driver's seat of the Turbo variant can use electricity to adjust. Honda features automatic climate control as well as digital displays for all variants.

The driver-centred design has adjusted the dashboard towards the driver instead of the Fascia T-Shaped. The seats of all Elantra variants are cloth upholstery, and the dashboard uses soft-touch materials.

Hyundai equips manual air-conditioning for the entry-level and mid-range variants with automatic climate control for the top variant. Push-button start is standard in the topper range while the rest uses keys. The high-level versions use push-button start while the rest use the key.

3. Hyundai Elantra Vs. Honda Civic: Engine & Transmission

With engines, both Hyundai Elantra vs Honda Civic offers two engine options with front-wheel drive. Honda equips the Civic with 1.8-liter and 1.5-liter i-VTEC engines with Earth Dreams Technology. The power of the 1.8-liter engine reaches 141 PS with 174 Nm of torque, while the depressurization of the 1.5-liter engine helps the car get 172 PS with 220 Nm of rev for torque.

Meanwhile, the 1.6-liter Gamma engine reaches 128 PS, and the torque reaches 154 Nm. The top-of-the-line variant has a Nu 2.0-liter engine capacity of 152 PS and 192 Nm of torque.

The gearbox of the two sedans is vastly different. The Civic’s gearbox is a continuously variable transmission, while Honda offers the Civic an advanced variant with paddle shifters. With the Elantra, only entry-level variants are equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.

A 7-inch display audio touchscreen is standard for entertainment systems on all variants of the Honda Civic. The screen is the core of the entertainment system when connecting a phone over Bluetooth or supporting link mirroring. The display also incorporates a trip computer and vehicle fuel consumption indicators. The sound system consists of six speakers throughout the cabin.

Hyundai Elantra offers three sound systems for each variant. The entry-level variant has a 2-DIN stereo system with a CD player, and the more upgraded variant adds USB and Aux-in features. The 5-inch screen and basic connectivity can only be found in the premium version. The speaker system is different for each variant: four speakers for the base and mid-range variant, six for the 2.0-liter premium variant.

Both brands offer full safety equipment for both sedans, with base models including antilock brakes and dual airbags.

The difference is that the Civic is equipped with climbing assistance through the Body Stability Assist System and a reversing camera with side airbags and side curtain airbags for the premium version.

Meanwhile, the 2.0-liter version of the Elantra adds sensor wiper mode and Rear Park Assist System.
