Kia Soluto vs Hyundai Reina: Which is the better subcompact sedan?
Kia Soluto and Hyundai Reina are two of the most popular Korean subcompact sedans. However, if you have to choose one of them, which is the better choice? Let's decide after reading this article!
1. Soluto vs Reina: Introduction
There had been several cars in the Korean subcompact sedan market segment before the Hyundai Reina and the Kia Soluto appeared. However, when these two brands were released this year, they immediately competed to be the better subcompact sedan brand in both sales and popularity.
When Kia Soluto appeared in January of 2019, people paid attention to the all-new nameplate that cheered up everyone. It had a reasonable price with a lot of onboard features and gave comfortable during driving within the city.
A day later, Hyundai released the Hyundai Reina with almost similar things to Kia Soluto.
They both had the same power, were built in China, with the same car platform which means they had the same handling characteristics. So are there any differences between these two: Hyundai Reina vs Kia Soluto, keep reading the comparison by Philhyundai.com
2. Kia Soluto vs Reina: Dimensions
Right off the bat, both of them have the same size but this thing doesn’t make two cars look similar at all because each carmaker gives them signature brand features.
While the Kia Soluto has a “tiger-nose grille” with that notably large lower piece intake which also houses the fog lights, the Reina has that distinctive Hyundai grille following their Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. Both of them are quite sporty and equally elegant.
We prefer the shape of the Soluto’s front end to Hyundai Reina’s shape because the lower profile shape of Kia’s hood is more attractive. Although Hyundai Reina is very nice too. In terms of size though, both of two brands save for the width, but the Kia Soluto is narrower by 5 mm.

Some people also made a comparison between Kia Soluto and Mitsubishi Mirage G4 about some features and we have to agree that the Mitsubishi made Mirage fall within their price range. Surprisingly, the Mirage G4 is shorter, narrower, but slightly higher than the Soluto and the Reina.
3. Hyundai Reina vs Soluto: Interior
The Reina’s weakness is its barebones interior features. This is the thing that makes the price of two brands different.
The Reina has a 1-Din audio system with a radio. More than that, the Soluto’s head unit is an excellent seven-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Their amount of legroom and headroom is not much different. Both of the two sedans have comfortable seats. We prefer Reina’s angular interior features to the Soluto’s rounded ones because of the shape of the air conditioning vents and on several other points on the dash.

4. Hyundai Reina vs Kia Soluto: Engine and Performance Review
According to the table above, we can easily realize that Soluto and Reina have a similar performance. Both of these two sedans use Kappa MPI Inline-4 as the same engines. Moreover, it is crucial to mention the close relationship between Kia and Hyundai.
The former of which currently owns around 33.88% of Kia and the latter in turn owns about 22% of Hyundai. This is the reason why these companies not only share platforms but also specific engines and some technical know-how.

These two brands have the same set of available gearboxes: a 4-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual. They are also really similar to under-chassis components. Both of them are nimble and city-going cars that you want for daily use.
5. Kia Soluto vs Hyundai Reina: Safety
About safety equipment, Soluto has more features in the form of an engine immobilizer. But this does not make Soluto better than Reina. Both of these cars have anti-lock braking systems, electronic locking doors, and the same amount of airbags.

The two cars are very fast in similar but quite advantageous in a tighter urban road, especially the Kia Soluto has a bit more onboard tech for both entertainment and safety.
